Model United Nations Oud-Beijerland

The power of real debate is the language and intellectual honesty of the debaters, alongside the engagement of spectators.

Dear delegates and sponsors, it is a pleasure to cordially invite you to our 12th MUNO conference. The three-day conference will take place on the 26st, 27nd and 28rd of November 2024. The conference is hosted for students in the fourth and fifth class of VWO (bilingual), the fourth class of Havo (bilingual) and IB students.

MUN-conferences are organised worldwide. Some examples of international conferences in the Netherlands are THIMUN in The Hague, LEMUN in Leiden and MUNA in Zoetermeer. MUNO was first organised in 2012 at C.S.G Willem van Oranje by a group of students who, after having attended MUNA, decided they wanted their own MUN-conference. This was such a great success that our school decided to organize it annually.

For 2024 our aim is to improve and expand MUNO and to provide students with a challenging, encouraging conference where they will learn to look further than what they already know. We will focuss on bringing the debates to an even higher level!

Certified senior tto school

CSG Willem van Oranje is a protestant public high/secundary school located at Oud-Beijerland. As a bilingual school we deem English to be an important aspect of the global environment, and hence, prepare our students for international recognition by providing programs with broad, internationally oriented context.

CSG Willem van Oranje is the only high school in the region where bilingual education is provided, We have been a senior tto-school for many years and still counting! This means that our teachers teach their subjects in English at a proficient level. Students start with tto in their freshman years at the education levels Havo and VWO. After which they can continue bilingual havo, atheneum or gymnasium.

In the years in which we have provided bilingual education, we have seen a tremendous amount of advantages.

  • Students can prepare for a study career in an ‘international oriented’ society;
  • More and more parents and students are seeing the importance of a more international oriented education;
  • Bilingual education encourages students’ cognitive growth and social awareness;
  • Bilingual students learn to debate, present, communicate and write essays in a foreign language.
